Coast Capital Savings Continues Support of Employment Program for People with Disabilities

BURNABY, British Columbia, January 31, 2012Coast Capital Savings (new window) has continued their support of the Neil Squire Society’s (new window) Employ-Ability Program in British Columbia for the fourth consecutive year by contributing $10,000.

The Employ-Ability Program is a pre-employment/employment program for persons with disabilities who are most marginalized in society, particularly those who have had very long term detachment from the labour force. The program provides a flexible, self-paced, and supportive environment, and services the full spectrum of people with physical disabilities.

TD Funds Employment Program for Persons with Physical Disabilities

BURNABY, British Columbia, January 31, 2012 – The Neil Squire Society today announced that TD Bank Group (new window) will be providing $50,000 of funding over two years to support and enhance the distance learning component of its Employ-Ability Program, a national pre-employment/employment program for people with physical disabilities.

Participants are able to sign into the online class room anywhere there is an Internet connection and at any time. Aimed at those who are most marginalized in society, particularly those who have had very long-term detachment from the labour force, the Employ-Ability program provides a flexible, self-paced and supportive environment, and services the full spectrum of people with physical disabilities with the goal of preparing them for future employment opportunities.

RBC Foundation Provides National Support for Employ-Ability Program

BURNABY, British Columbia, November 21, 2011 – RBC Foundation (new window) has continued their support of the Neil Squire Society’s Employ-Ability Program for the fourth consecutiveEmploy-Ability Program participants and facilitators year by contributing $20,000. The Employ-Ability Program is a national program designed for Canadians with physical disabilities. The Program provides employment skills enhancement within a flexible, self-paced, and supportive environment.

Funds from the RBC Foundation (new window) will enhance delivery of the Program to 220 persons with physical disabilities across Canada. The Neil Squire Society has been highly successful with their participants in identifying and breaking down barriers to labour market entry or re-entry. 95% of participants will achieve enhanced employability and will be prepared to take the next step of offering their services to society as employees, volunteers, and students.
