Chantal Builds Confidence

December 7, 2015

Chantal joined the Employ-Ability Program in Moncton, New Brunswick (new window), after a referral from her Occupational Therapist (new window). At first she was unsure if the Program was right for her or if she was right for the Program.

Job Fair LogoChantal experiences generalized anxiety (new window), obsessive compulsive disorder (new window), and pain in her shoulders. She has a Certificate in general office work, and has also completed the Safety Start Program (new window) which offers 14 hours of training in Occupational Health and Safety and Emergency First Aid (new window). Chantal is fluently bilingual in English and French (new window) and is an active volunteer at the George Dumont Hospital (new window) and with the YWCA (new window) in Moncton.

Chantal found that the Employ-Ability Program respected her limits, and over time, helped her build confidence, and diminish her insecurities. Chantal valued the personality and career assessments which provided great insight into her personality type and occupations that blend her type and her work preferences.

On October 16, 2014, Chantal attended the Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities (new window) and was interviewed by Global TV (new window) and Radio Canada (new window).

Chantal’s most recent success was landing a part time job at the Home Depot (new window). Chantal feels that this job will be a stepping stone towards more independence and the self-confidence to continue in the workforce!

Bonne chance, Chantal!
