One of the first things you’ll notice when you enter Amira’s home is the warm welcome and hospitality. She takes great pride in preparing coffee and foods for guests — often a delicious Syrian treat — and welcomes you into her family. While taking part in our Digital Jumpstart program, this is how she always welcomes her trainer, Erin, into her home.
For Nancy, it was a treat to finally meet her Digital Jumpstart trainer, Erin, in-person at our Moncton office.
Moses says the thing that he benefitted the most from was the “donation of technology geared specifically to my flavour of blindness.”
Brian is legally blind, having very limited vision. While working on a couple projects that required him to spend a lot of time on the computer, he noticed that his old computer wasn’t up to the task. And the long hours spent on the computer were causing him pain, in part because of the strain with his limited vision.
“Before I couldn’t see how I could do anything, but [the Digital Jumpstart program] helped motivate me and gave me something to look forward to.”
