Through Digital Jumpstart, Taylor received equipment including a computer, mouse, and keyboard, and received training in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point. Working with Neil Squire staff on their job search, Taylor was hired by the Disability Foundation, a role that helped Taylor find confidence in their abilities.
Lynn is passionate about caring for seniors, with extensive experience working with clients in independent living homes. Now, she wants to continue working with seniors and performing respite care services as an entrepreneur in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
This Mother’s Day, we wanted to share the story of Lisa, a mother of three children in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, who joined our Digital Jumpstart program to brush up on her computer skills to maintain employment.
Now, Randy is looking for part-time work again, and needed to update his computer skills and equipment to assist in his job search. He joined Digital Jumpstart.
“It’s not as scary to open a computer anymore,” he laughs. “Because I would open up the computer and just start trying to go here, trying to go there, and I’d just get confused and lost. They were able to show me take step one, step two, step three — it made it a little easier for me to understand and to cope with.”
