SUMMARY:CASE Conference
DESCRIPTION:Neil Squire Prairie Regional Manager\, Nikki Langdon\, will be speaking at this event. Her topic is titled: Living with Mental Illness through a Pandemic \nNikki Langdon has worked with people with disabilities in the area of employment for over 23 years and Nikki also has a diagnosed mental illness that she has lived with and battled for well over 50 years. She found in sharing her story with her clients\, she was able to connect in a more meaningful way and take some of the stigma from the disease. During Covid\, through some dark times\, she chose to extent her reach in sharing her story and hopefully addressing stigma in a more widespread way\, by writing a book about her journey called\, Shades\, Living with Mental Illness. \nNikki holds a Bachelor’s degree with great distinction in Adapted Physical Activity Studies (Kinesiology) and has been awarded the YWCA Woman of Distinction award in Leadership and Management. She holds the Registered Rehabilitation Professional Certification from the Vocational Rehabilitation Society of Canada and the Certified Vocational Professional and Return to Work Disability Manager designations from the College of Vocational Professionals.
