SUMMARY:HRCE Innovation in Teaching Day 2022
DESCRIPTION:Makers Making Change is thrilled to be presenting at Halifax Regional Centre for Education’s Innovation in Teaching Day! \nWe will presenting an overview of the Makers Making Change program\, as well as the work we are currently doing in classrooms and with youth across the country. We will highlight our past work with teachers and students\, where student gain hands on skills building assistive devices which can then be donated throughout their community. Students learn about assistive technology\, accessibility\, and needs in their community\, then learn to solder and assemble a device that also utilizes 3D printing. We aim to promote Assistive Technology use\, while also introducing STEM skills\, and meet community needs. Teachers will also have the opportunity to try building of assistive devices themselves and have a close up look at our projects! \nWe look forward to connecting and collaborating with teachers through this exciting event!
