DESCRIPTION:Let’s change the way we think\, talk and act about accessibility and inclusion!\nNational AccessAbility Week (NAAW) takes place every year starting on the last Sunday in May. It is a time when accessibility and inclusion is promoted across communities and workplaces and a time to celebrate the contributions of Canadians with disabilities. It is also an opportunity to recognize the efforts of Canadians who are actively removing barriers and ensuring persons with disabilities have an equal chance to participate in all aspects of Canadian society. \nThe increased social and economic inclusion of persons with disabilities has positive economic and social benefits\, for persons with disabilities\, for business\, the economy\, and society in general. \nWhen persons with disabilities can access meaningful employment\, resources and services\, Canada’s economy grows. Businesses have the chance to welcome more customers\, service satisfaction improves and workplaces reflect Canada’s diversity. \nBy bringing Canadians together to recognize the valuable contributions of persons with disabilities\, we are strengthening the collaborative effort needed to create a country that is fully accessible and inclusive.

Our Atlantic Regional Office will present a “Fireside Chat” that will focus on Microsoft 365 built-in Assistive Technology from 5:30 to 6:00 pm ET. \nJoin us and lend your voice to the thought leadership discussions that is helping to reshape the future of accessibility. \nNeil Squire has been part of the organizing committee of this event for the past three years.

DESCRIPTION:Women in 3D Printing (new window) is a group with a chapter based out of the North Forge Makerspace (new window) in Winnipeg Manitoba. The organization promotes\, supports and inspires women who are using additive manufacturing technologies. The organization also encourages women to try 3D Printing technologies for the first time! \n \nJune 3rd 5-6 CST Join a special presentation with Suzanne Winterflood of Makers Making Change. \nMakers Making Change (new window) is a program offered by Neil Squire Society across Canada and now available in Manitoba. Makers Making Change offers a platform for makers (engineers\, hobbyists\, students\, corporations\, etc.) to volunteer their time to build an access solution from their device library (new window). People with disabilities\, their family members\, or disability professionals can request a project that will help address a person’s barriers\, and only pay the cost of materials (and shipping if applicable) \nThis is a casual meetup series for 3D Printing enthusiasts to meet and discuss with new faces and 3D printing veterans. \n \n**Note: Women in 3D Printing events are open to all; not just women!**
