This year the Neil Squire Society’s Central Regional Office was awarded the Education Award. The Education Award is a great honour because it recognizes the Neil Squire Society’s (new window)skills development program, the Employ-Ability Program, and how it demonstrates leadership by providing inclusion, and accessibility for people with disabilities.

Celebration of People - Education Award“I would like to thank Madelyn Scanlan of Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (new window) (formerly the Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario) and Employ-Ability Program participant Lisa Duncan for nominating us. I would also like to thank Celebration of People’s Lead Partner, Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa, the Steering Committee members, the dedicated volunteers and sponsors who make this event possible.” – Cheryl Colmer, Central Regional Manager, Neil Squire Society.

The Neil Squire Society was acknowledged for ensuring that individuals with disabilities are able to reach their full potential through the use of computer-based assistive technologies.
