Attention all stakeholders:
The Neil Squire Society (NSS), supported by funding from the Advancing Accessibility Standards Research Program of Accessibility Standards Canada (new window), is developing a document that proposes a process for the procurement of accessible mobile devices. The goal of this document, titled Accessible Procurement of Mobile Devices, is to address existing issues with accessible information and communication technology (ICT), reference best practices, and suggest ways to evaluate the level of compliance with the proposed procurement process for new accessibility solutions that may be created in the future.
We appreciate the feedback received during the first commentary period and have revised the draft document based on your suggestions. We are now seeking further input to ensure that the document accurately reflects the needs and requirements for procuring accessible mobile devices. Therefore, the draft document is now open for a second round of public commentary, starting February 1st, 2023. Your participation in this second commentary period is crucial in ensuring the final version of the document is effective and comprehensive.
Interested parties who wish to provide further comments on Accessible Procurement of Mobile Devices may do so by downloading the draft document and the comment form to their device (links below).
