Julie lives with Retinitis Pigmentosa, meaning she experiences near complete blindness, but this doesn’t stop her from living life to the fullest and achieving her goals. With certificates in Customer Service and Human Services, Julie had the skills necessary to rejoin the workforce, but her confidence had decreased since she hadn’t worked in seven years.
Paige works with the Aboriginal community, particularly the disenfranchised and homeless. She assists them with everything from housing to finances, to mental health and addiction.
Each lunch hour at Outma Sqilx’w Cultural School, Aurora would help give hungry elementary students their long-awaited lunches. Working in food preparation in the school cafeteria, she enjoyed serving about 100 lunches twice a week during her part-time work experience placement.
Sushil was well educated when he arrived in Canada as a new immigrant. Unfortunately, much of his education wasn’t recognized here.
For the last 25 years, Lori has been a tireless advocate and volunteer in the blind community. To help her do this, Lori needs assistive technology.
