“I was not doing anything. I was getting into a deep depression, feeling like I was not able to do anything worthwhile, and becoming a burden for my family,” says Melissa of her life prior to joining the Neil Squire Society’s Employ-Ability Program in Regina, Saskatchewan.
With optimism keeping Elaine on her feet, no obstacle can get in the way. Elaine is a unique individual who has a very rare autoimmune disease called Neuromyelitis Optica.
This line from Winston Churchill captures the reality that Donna, New Brunswick’s first Computer Comfort volunteer, has been living for well over a year.
It has been a win-win situation for all. It gives me pride when giving back to the community, integrating ourselves, and developing a sense of belonging.”
