When Lindsey joined our Creative Employment Options program, she worked one-on-one with a Job Developer that moved at her pace and assisted her with updating her resume and developing cover letters for jobs she was interested in.
Bonita works as a registered foot and hand reflexologist, and she also creates organic soap, which she sells at retail stores and farmer’s markets. For both, her listening skills are vital, whether she is working one-on-one with a reflexology client or talking with customers in a busy market.
While we’ve often highlighted the efforts of our volunteers, today we want to do something a little different — we want to share the great work a couple of Hacking for the Holidays supporters are doing to raise funds to ensure kids with disabilities get the adapted toys they need to play independently.
After graduating from college with a diploma in horticulture, Meredith joined our Creative Employment Options program for help with her job search. She has anxiety, and is neurodivergent with diagnoses of autism and ADHD. Despite previously taking part in a horticulture co-op placement during school and related volunteer experience, she found she was facing barriers in finding employment.
