February 13, 2013

BURNABY, British Columbia, February 13, 2013 – For their fifth consecutive year, Coast Capital Savings (new window)
has continued to support youth in the Neil Squire Society’s (new window) Employ-Ability Program by providing funding of $10,000.

Employ-Ability Participant, Amelia “We are very pleased to have received another year of support from Coast Capital Savings. Their commitment to our Employ-Ability Program has been tremendous,” said Gary Birch, Executive Director of the Neil Squire Society. “They are helping youth with physical disabilities build their independence, and enabling them to develop the skills necessary for employment.”

The Employ-Ability Program prepares persons with disabilities for future employment opportunities. The Program is aimed at those who are most marginalized in society, particularly those who have had very long term detachment from the labour force.

“Coast Capital Savings is committed to helping organizations like the Neil Squire Society in building a richer future for youth in our communities,” explains Wendy Lachance, Coast Capital’s Director of Community Leadership. “One of the ways we do that is through investing in programs that help youth earn money and become self-reliant. The Employ-Ability Program is a fantastic example of an initiative that is actively doing just that.”

The Employ-Ability program provides a flexible, self-paced, and supportive environment for people with physical disabilities looking to get into the work force.
