The University of Alberta BME 553 class focuses on Rehabilitative Biomedical Engineering. This class will explore how Makers Making Change can be a resource for their future careers and to learn the basics of creating adaptive switches and other assistive tech.

According to Statistics Canada, 80% of people living with a disability use an assistive device to increase their independence, and 27% need at least one more. Cost is often cited as the main barrier.
