MET Schools Winnipeg – Build Workshop 2 – Forest Joystick Mouse Hub
March 19, 2024 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PDT
Event Navigation

Met Students will come together for this second workshop to build the Forest Joystick Mouse Hub.
Building on the skills learned at previous workshops students participate in an advanced build that requires careful soldering of components to a custom PCB and flashing firmware.
The OpenAT Forest Joystick Mouse Hub (“Forest Hub”) enables a user to connect an analog joystick and up to four (4) assistive switches to emulate a USB Mouse or USB Gamepad. Another assistive switch can be used to cycle between slots and switch between Mouse and Gamepad mode.
The Forest Hub is compatible with computers, tablets, mobile phones, and the Xbox Adaptive Controller. It should be paired with an analog joystick like the Oak Compact Joystick or Spruce Mini Joystick and one or more assistive switches.
Makers Making Change supports STEM education through an assistive technology lens. Our workshops encourage students to tackle real-world challenges as Maker Volunteers and to empathize with people with disabilities. Learn more here: Youth Making Change.
