MMC to host a toy hack and access switch build event at University of Manitoba

Makers Making Change will be running a toy hack hosted by University of Manitoba and their Department of Occupational Therapy. In addition to hacking toys, attendees will be making access switches from the Makers Making Change library, so the toy can be used by a youth with a disability in the Winnipeg area.

2019 Sherway Gardens TELUS Days of Giving Build Event
Since 2017, Neil Squire Society’s Makers Making Change Program has worked closely with TELUS in providing a number of hands on STEM event for their employees as part of the TELUS Days of Giving program. The first two years, the events were focused as day long build events of the LipSync. Join us November 18th from 10-1pm at MM305 in the McNally Building to build adaptive switches! The switches, or buttons, are used by people with disabilities to have input controls more easily reached and can be plugged into any adaptive device. Novice builders are welcome and you can learn about soldering while creating a device to help someone in need.
