Position Summary

The Audiology Assistant will report directly to the Director of Audiology and will work closely with the Neil Squire Hearing Solutions team at our Burnaby office. This role supports clients through a combination of administrative, client service, and supervised clinical support activities. We are seeking a motivated individual who views this position as a learning opportunity and a pathway to developing long-term skills in healthcare, audiology, and client services.

Duties

  • Responding to client inquiries in person, by phone, and by email
  • Managing the telephone and voicemail system
  • Triaging and scheduling appointments
  • Creating, maintaining, and managing confidential paper and electronic client records, including data entry and secure file handling
  • Processing financial transactions, client estimates, invoices, and managing third-party insurance programs
  • Accurately documenting accounting records including but not limited to invoices and purchase orders
  • Ordering, shipping, receiving, tracking, and maintaining inventory for clinic supplies and client devices
  • Assist with daily cleaning and infection control procedures
  • Assistance with marketing and planning for internal and external community events
  • Performing basic hearing aid maintenance, device setup, and equipment troubleshooting
  • Assisting with basic audiology procedures such as otoscopy under supervision
  • Obtaining informed consent, reviewing results with clients as directed, providing appropriate recommendations, and documenting as required
  • Providing clients and caregivers with basic information regarding hearing health, hearing aids, and assistive devices
  • Assisting clients with parts of the hearing aid orientation process
  • Assistance with training and supervising new staff
  • Provide relief reception services and administrative support
  • Provide support for other programs at Neil Squire Society
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in an applicable field and a minimum of 3 years of work experience
  • Previous experience in a hearing or healthcare clinic, or in customer service is an asset
  • Previous experience with Blueprint Solutions clinic management software is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills in-person and over the telephone
  • Excellent computer skills and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, or as a part of a team
  • Demonstrated interest in learning new skills, taking initiative, and growing within a healthcare or audiology setting
  • Passionate about patient-centred care and customer service
  • Fluency in American Sign Language is an asset
  • A criminal record check will be required prior to commencing work and each year thereafter

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule – Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary range: Competitive with market ($40,000 – $50,000)
