Longtime supporter, and past participant, Peter Hanson, makes a surprise visit to the Neil Squire Society (new window) and comes bearing gifts. Peter is the President of an organization called The Knights of Malta, Dogwood Chapter, (new window) and he and the members of the organization picked the Neil Squire Society as the lucky recipients of their donation.
The Knights of Malta, Dogwood Chapter, is a non-profit society which raises funds in the community for charity organizations (new window). They have been raising funds for the Neil Squire Society for over five years. “This is my way of saying thank you,” says Peter. “I wouldn’t be President of this club if it wasn’t for the Neil Squire Society. I love the smile I get when I present the cheque. That is the award I receive.”
The donation will go towards the Neil Squire Society’s Computer Comfort Program, and help enable participants who may have physical and financial barriers that inhibit them from participating in everyday activities. “We are thrilled to be chosen as their charity of choice,” says Dr. Gary Birch. “This donation will help us purchase technology for those who can’t afford it.”
A warm thank you to the Knights of Malta – it’s organizations like yours that keeps the Neil Squire Society thriving.
