Elly uses a cane for mobility and a wheelchair for longer distances. She joined Working Together to identify barriers to employment, learn about solutions to those barriers, and learn how to disclose a disability to an employer.
Neil Squire Society’s Makers Making Change is hosting the CrashBang Labs LipSync Buildathon in Regina, Saskatchewan on Thursday, June 28, 2018. At the event, volunteer makers will build an open source assistive device, the LipSync, which will be donated to people with disabilities in the Regina area.
We are hiring! Our Makers Making Change initiative is looking for Regional Coordinators for our Prairie, Central, and Atlantic offices. The Regional Coordinators will work to integrate Makers Making Change into the culture of various makerspaces and hackspaces in their region.
Stephanie was struggling with identifying what she wanted to do with her life. She was born with Spina bifida and uses a wheelchair to get around. Since joining Working Together, Stephanie has experienced an increase in self-esteem and has become an active member of the community.
