In 2020, Johanna was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and can experience both manic and depressive states. She was also diagnosed with ADHD and red-green colour blindness, and says that routine, repetition, and structure are needed for her to succeed in a work environment.
“This program has given me the ability to look for employment in a company and not feel like I will be a burden,” Tanya says. “[It] has helped my ability to use the keyboard less, sit in a comfortable chair and use the laptop to complete my training. As well, use my headphones to speak into [it] without using my hands on the keyboard or phone.”
Tamara learned about Neil Squire from her fiancé, a former participant, and decided to join our Creative Employment Options program with the hopes of finding an accommodating workplace where she could feel confident and safe.
