Lynda is an executive assistant and office manager at a non-profit in Vancouver. She has virus-caused progressive hearing loss in both ears.
“It is easy now for me to hear the residents and my co-workers. I feel the difference while I’m using the hearing aid,” Edgardo says.
Marcie had a stroke several years ago, which has left her with hemiparesis — weakness — on her right side. This made using a traditional heavy vacuum with a cord — particularly on the stairs — difficult, and even dangerous for her.
“I would totally recommend the Assistive Technology Services program to others! Everyone has been quite supportive and helpful,” she says. “I am amazed by the amount of support and care that I have received from the staff at the Assistive Technology Services program.”
