Over the course of three Youth Making Change workshops with Makers Making Change, Grade 9 drafting students at Linden Christian School in Winnipeg put their drafting skills in action to make a difference for children with disabilities.
On November 21st, over 20 students from Winnipeg’s Met schools traded in their pens and pencils for soldering irons as they worked together to build assistive switches and adapt RC car toys for children with disabilities as part of Neil Squire’s #HackingForTheHolidays campaign.

In 2020, Johanna was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and can experience both manic and depressive states. She was also diagnosed with ADHD and red-green colour blindness, and says that routine, repetition, and structure are needed for her to succeed in a work environment.
Our Makers Making Change team had a great time at the Skills Canada National Competition on May 25th and 26th in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
