Joe Learns Useful Skills in the Employ-Ability Program

March 22, 2011

Joe was having problems with a tendon in his foot. He could no longer manage his janitorial job and decided he needed to find a different line of work. He read about the Neil Squire Society in the newspaper and joined the Employ-Ability program in Regina, Saskatchewan (new window).

Another beneficial exercise in the program was goal setting. I could see how self-esteem is raised by making specific goals and achieving them,” says Joe.

Joe also learned about ergonomics and how they can help him physically with his computer set-up. “I have had some wrist strain and learned that the chair I’ve been using at home should have been raised. I am glad to know about proper posture. This will aid me in the long term with computer work”.

Joe has now begun his job search and we wish him the best of luck!
