Transformative Tech Academy Toronto Chapter

April 30, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Transformative Technology Toronto logo

This inaugural event serves as a way to build community around Helping Transformative Tech Entrepreneurs and Innovators find Feedback, Funding and Friends. It is an opportunity to learn from each other and envision a future that we can co-create together. We hope to offer a different kind of event, a learning space for us to explore together., every month.

At this event, we will hear from Stewart Russell, Neil Squire Society, Makers Making Change. Makers Making Change brings together makers and people with disabilities to create new affordable open-source assistive technologies. Inexpensive 3d printers along with open-source electronics such as Arduino allow rapid prototyping and customization of low volume assistive devices. By providing designs made in the community at low cost, we’re including more people into the workplace.

Stewart Russell is the Central Region Organizer for Neil Squire Society’s Makers Making Change initiative. Stewart is an engineer and maker with many years experience in community energy and renewable energy projects. When he’s not telling the world about open source assistive technology, he develops Raspberry Pi projects, maintains some very old computers and draws geometric patterns.
