Director, Board of Directors
The Neil Squire Society is seeking a financial professional to join our Board of Directors and Financial Management Committee. The ideal candidate for this role is a senior professional/partner with a major accounting, tax or audit practice in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. This is a volunteer position.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible as a Director of a not for profit organization under the Societies Act. Directors are responsible for the following activities on an annual basis:
- attend our quarterly (4) board meetings annually which take place each fourth Monday of January, April, July and October from 5:30pm to 7:30pm as well as our September Annual General Meeting.
- become a member of the Society ($5/annum)
- attend our annual planning meeting (either a half or full day) and any orientation or board development sessions (1 annually)
- serve on at least one committee of the board that fits your interest and availability (Financial Management Committee in this case)
- make at least a modest financial donation to organization annually (the recommended contribution is $1,000 per annum)
