Michelle Finds a new Career

April 11, 2011

Michelle worked as a Resident Attendant for over 7 years. She loved going to work everyday and had a particular interest in working with seniors. During an early morning shift one day, Michelle helped a senior from falling and as a result injured her back.

Michelle came to the Neil Squire Society’s Employ-Ability program looking for help finding a new career – one that she would enjoy doing for many years to come, even with her permanent back injury.

The Neil Squire Society helped Michelle identify her skills and prepare her resume. Based on her background and her extensive transferable skill set, the Neil Squire Society helped Michelle enroll in a Medical Information Assistant program. Once she completed the program, she successfully obtained employment as a Night Manager with the Delta Saint John (new window) hotel. Although it is not in the medical field, Michelle felt that this would be an excellent opportunity for her to build her skills.

Congratulations, Michelle!
