When Michelle joined the Employ-Ability program in Burnaby, British Columbia (new window), she was having difficulty retaining employment while dealing with a recurring tumor and the subsequent treatment, surgeries, and lengthy recovery time.

Michelle loves working with numbers and realized that she would enjoy developing her own bookkeeping business. This would allow her to choose her own hours of work, or hire someone to do the work if she was unable.

Michelle decided to enroll in the Professional Bookkeeping program (new window) at Langara College (new window). The course provides a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge and applications of general bookkeeping principles and will provide Michelle with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully enter private practice as a Professional Bookkeeper.
