Over the last few years, the Movement Centre is one of several organizations in Winnipeg that Makers Making Change has partnered with to provide low cost assistive technology to people with disabilities.
Since immigrating to Canada, Aliakbar has had a hard time finding employment. He faced a language barrier, a lack of Canadian education, and hearing loss.
In our leadup to this year’s CAOT Conference, Makers Making Change published a story each week on occupational therapists’ experiences with Makers Making Change, with looks at OTs who have requested and received devices, and OTs who make and lead chapters.
Our friends at the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation have developed two new assistive switches and are improving the designs.
