Since getting his certifications and accreditations in sales enablement, Tyler has found steady employment over the last 13 years. However, he struggled working in an office environment. He joined our Creative Employment Options program to find a role that better fits his needs.
Diagnosed with ADHD and Asperger’s Syndrome, Tyler says he has difficulty staying focused if there are any distractions near him and that he can become hyper-focused when working on an interesting project he enjoys. Being in an office environment causes him sensory overload, and he says working from home is the best accommodation as it allows him to block out all outside influences and be more productive.
In our Creative Employment Options program, he wanted assistance with his resume and cover letter, feeling that it needed to be trimmed down, and he wanted guidance on how to disclose his disability.
Working with his Job Developer, Tyler was able to find the perfect fit for employment — a fully remote role as a Senior Solutions Architect. Through the Creative Employment Options program, his employer received a wage subsidy. The fit has been perfect.
“Tyler has been doing an exceptional job so far. From day one, he’s jumped in with a proactive attitude and a strong grasp of our systems and needs,” his employer shares.
“In just a few short weeks, he’s helped streamline several internal processes, brought clarity to areas that needed tightening, and has been incredibly responsive and reliable. What typically takes new hires a few months to fully grasp, Tyler has picked up in record time — and he’s already making a measurable impact.
“We’re really glad to have him on board and excited to see how much more value he’ll bring as we move forward.”
Tyler has continued to impress his employer in his new role, and when the wage subsidy term came to an end, Tyler was offered and accepted full-time employment.
