Blind Corners: A Documentary Featuring Former Distance Computer Comfort Participant, Brett Devloo

November 24, 2025

Rose Sheikh-Bahaie from our Distance Computer Comfort program recently met up with Brett Devloo, aka The Blind Kid (new window), at the premiere of his documentary film, Blind Corners (new window).

Rose and Brett
Brett, a former Neil Squire participant, lost 98 percent of his vision at the age of 16 and has since become a recognized figure in the skateboarding community. The film follows Brett’s life as a blind skateboarder, his entrepreneurial work, and the community supporting him as he pursues life without limits.

We couldn’t be more proud of Brett. Through our Distance Computer Comfort and Digital Jumpstart programs, he received a laptop and the screen reading software, JAWS, as well as training support and technical assistance from Khatidja and Gordon. These tools continue to support him in his daily life and advocacy.

Rose thoroughly enjoyed the film and the panel discussion she attended afterward.
