Ceinwen’s Hard Work Leads to a Meaningful New Job

January 30, 2026

Creative Employment Options participant Ceinwen at their work desk.

Having graduated from university with a degree in International Studies, Ceinwen joined our Creative Employment Options program looking to find work where they could make a difference in their community. Ceinwen has ADHD and a learning disability, which can make it difficult to retain information.

Despite starting the process feeling discouraged with the job market, Ceinwen came to each meeting with a positive mindset and put in the work to find employment.

The Creative Employment Options team helped Ceinwen polish their resume and cover letter, updating it using modern formatting that would catch an employer’s eye.

Ceinwen worked on increasing their confidence by practicing common interview questions, focusing on sharing previous experiences in the workplace that highlight their skills and abilities. They also learned about using the STAR method to answer behavioural-based interview questions.

Before long, Ceinwen’s hard work paid off when they got the chance to interview at a local non-profit organization for a role as an Administrative Assistant. Drawing on their extensive preparation, Ceinwen aced the interview and was offered the job on the spot. Way to go!
