Lori Reignites Her Confidence and Finds a Great Job

When a friend recommended Neil Squire’s Creative Employment Options program, Lori jumped at the opportunity. She was looking for full-time employment as a bookkeeper or in office administration in Regina.

Lori sitting at her work desk.Lori has depression, and during depressive episodes, she finds it challenging to muster motivation for daily tasks. She was also diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, which she manages with insulin pills and a controlled diet.

Upon joining the Creative Employment Options program, Lori worked closely with her Job Developer to not only acquire practical skills, but also to reignite her sense of purpose and confidence.

With guidance from employment specialists, Lori honed her resume to highlight her strengths and experiences, and crafted cover letters that conveyed her passion and enthusiasm for potential roles.

Lori gained invaluable insights into interview techniques and job maintenance, utilizing mock interviews and role-playing exercises to help her articulate her value to prospective employers with clarity and confidence. She also learned essential workplace strategies such as time management and prioritizing self-care amidst professional demands.

Throughout her journey in the program, Lori underwent a profound personal and professional transformation. Armed with newfound skills and a renewed sense of determination, she embarked on her job search with optimism.

Her efforts soon paid off when she was offered a full-time Administration position at a trucking company. Lori loves her new job.
