She has hearing loss. “I require hearing aids to help me hear instructions, job duties, [things for] personal safety. I struggle when people speak to me without face-to-face contact,” she shares.

Having been working with her local WorkBC Centre to find employment, they referred her to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to get the hearing aids she needs in the workplace. The new hearing aids have made a big difference at work.

“I have a renewed confidence in myself,” she explains. “I am safe at work now and can hear conversations. Therefore, I now have the confidence to do my job and further my career. I have increased my responsibilities, thus increasing my hours.”

Sandy says she “absolutely” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need.

WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
