At Makers Making Change, we believe in collaborating to make even more effective assistive solutions. On that note, we want to introduce two makers: Ross Porter, a Seattle-based maker who created the dementia-friendly music player, and Trey Bagley, who made the 3D-printed design.

Neil Squire Society’s Makers Making Change is hosting the CrashBang Labs LipSync Buildathon in Regina, Saskatchewan on Thursday, June 28, 2018. At the event, volunteer makers will build an open source assistive device, the LipSync, which will be donated to people with disabilities in the Regina area.
Some incredible TELUS team members helped us build 175 LipSyncs over the past month and a half! Thank you, TELUS, for your leadership and support in hosting these LipSync Buildathons.
Right now on the iOS app store there are countless talking calculators available for purchase and even some for free. We’ve looked at Talking Calculator in the past, and it does a great job of calculating complex formulas hands-free with full VoiceOver support. For users who are blind, have low-vision, or have learning disabilities that make it difficult to visually process numbers, talking calculators can help level the playing field by giving users the ability to engage in math problems independently.
