This week recognizes the important contributions of people with disabilities and encourages efforts to remove barriers, creating a fair and welcoming society for everyone. There are a variety of ways you can get involved in NAAW this week to support greater accessibility including watching a Virtual Presentation, organizing a Buildathon, or joining or organizing a Walk and Roll Event.
This event will give OpenRoad Group members and community volunteers the opportunity to walk through a toy adaption with Makers Making Change staff. Members will be given the opportunity to solder and test out their adaptive device. Devices will then be donated to members in the community.
Yesterday, we kicked off National AccessAbility Week with a barbecue at our Fredericton office. While the weather wasn’t the best, we had a great time connecting with the community. We were honoured to have Premier Susan Holt in attendance.
