On this Valentine’s Day we’d like to share our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of our donors, volunteers, and supporters. On behalf of all of us at Neil Squire, thank you for bringing empowerment, joy, and knowledge to those we serve.
Here’s a snapshot of how your support has impacted the lives of people with disabilities across Canada:
“I can say that my confidence has greatly increased since being in the program. I’ve struggled with isolation for years because the outside world is generally too loud, bright, and fast for me. I’m now able to work full-time, use my skills to help others, and manage my sensory challenges. I also live independently! I’m very grateful,” says Emily, a Working Together participant from BC.
“Neil Squire has helped me out a lot,” says Troy, a Digital Jumpstart participant from Ontario. “I’m a lot better at [technology] because of everything they showed me and went through with me, which is awesome. Helps me to do my job. [. . .] I can do it myself, which I wouldn’t have been able to do before.”
“The Distance Computer Comfort program at Neil Squire was one of the better things that happened in my life this year!” says Distance Computer Comfort participant Katherine in BC.
“I want to thank the staff and volunteers at Neil Squire for everything that they do. Without the support they’ve given me, I wouldn’t be where I am,” says Blaine, a Working Together and Digital Jumpstart participant in Saskatchewan.
“We’re just super grateful, and we appreciate all the time and effort that goes into it, because we just wouldn’t be able to access the kind of toys that Aubrey likes if this kind of organization,” says Carly in Ontario, mother of Aubrey, a child with a disability who received an adapted toy from our Makers Making Change (new window) program.
These are just a few voices from the over 8,000 people we have supported over the last year, and it is all made possible by our donors. Your support enables us to provide assistive technology, digital literacy, and employment supports to people across Canada. Thank you for supporting our work to empower people with disabilities.
