A younger person gently holding the hand of an elderly individual, conveying care and support.Jason works as a community support worker, providing one-on-one support for an individual in a group home. He has hearing loss, which can make it difficult to interact with his client.

Through WorkBC Assistive Technology Services, Jason received funding for the hearing aids he needs for work.

“It has been a life changer,” he shares. Describing his client as a “soft talker,” Jason says he can now hear everything his client says to him. He also feels safer supporting his client in the community because he is more aware of his surroundings and can be more easily alerted to potential dangers.

Jason says he “absolutely” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need.

WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
