Gregory has anxiety and depression, which sometimes makes it hard to get out of bed and accomplish tasks. He was having a hard time finding employment, despite consistent efforts in sending out resumes.
Seeking a positive change and a chance to investigate new career avenues, Gregory was drawn to the Empower3D program, in particular the opportunity to explore the manufacturing sector while strengthening essential job-seeking skills.
Upon starting the program, Gregory had some clear goals: consistent attendance and successful completion of the curriculum, followed by securing employment.
Gregory really enjoyed the classroom component of the program, finding the self-care component particularly valuable. He also enjoyed doing the “TED Talks” style presentations in the classroom.
Since completing the pre-employment and skills training component of Empower3D, Gregory earned a work placement with the local food bank. Excelling at his job, Gregory saw his placement extended until December.
Now, Gregory feels much more confident and has a positive outlook on employment, noting that he feels a new sense of direction.
“I am more employable than before I started the program,” he shares. “I feel a little more optimistic about finding and securing a job, whether that be in manufacturing or another field entirely.”
