Wow! Over the course of our Hacking for the Holidays campaign, you helped us raise over $142,500, host 256 events engaging 7,062 volunteers, and deliver 4,257 adapted toys and switches to families and clinicians across Canada.
Technology evolves at an incredible pace — imagine that in the time it takes to develop a specific solution or an accommodation for a device, the technology in question may already be outdated. While developing solutions allowing people with disabilities to access technology still remains a priority, it’s also important to influence accessibility on a broader scale.
Staff across all Neil Squire departments work together to provide personalized, practical support to all of our participants. We use feedback loops to ensure continuity for each individual’s journey toward enhanced independence.
There are over 200 open-source devices in our Makers Making Change assistive device library, free for anyone to use. But many of the devices began from a need in our community.
