When his school year ended, Noah wanted to find a summer job. However, he knew he needed a job that wouldn’t worsen the pain he feels due to flat feet, which makes standing or walking for long periods of time difficult. He decided to join our Creative Employment Options program.
The Creative Employment Options team helped him polish his resume and think through disclosing his disability to potential employers. With newfound confidence and a carefully crafted resume, Noah was ready to take on the job market.
Our team tapped into their network of employers and found Noah an opportunity with BGC Moncton (new window), which was looking for a youth tutor. Noah worked hard practicing his interview skills, and it all paid off when he aced the interview. He was hired for a part-time position.
While he was initially nervous, in no time, he felt right at home. It’s been an amazing fit at BGC Moncton for Noah, and his employer couldn’t agree more.
“He asks all the right questions, communicates effectively, and is solution-focused. His customized tutoring strategies are tailored perfectly for each individual, and his work consistently impresses. Noah is a pleasure to have on our team and is exceeding all expectations,” shares his employer.
When summer ended, they offered Noah to stay on into the school year. His dedication and perseverance didn’t just secure him a summer job, but it also paved the way for continued employment.
