Luke works in two roles for Summer Street Industries, a cleaner and a production worker, and he loves them both. The experience of feeling valued as an employee has encouraged him to look ahead and set other goals for himself.
For the last two years, Neil Squire has partnered with the Hammond River Angling Association (HRAA) to provide summer employment to local youth with disabilities. The HRAA is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to protect and preserve the Hammond River through education, conservation, and community interaction.
With a background in general labour, mechanics, and construction, Anthony had a clear goal of what he wanted to achieve. He required a low-stress environment that would allow him frequent rest breaks – just like his past employment.
Jason lives with Anxiety and Psychosis. Looking for a job, he joined Working Together. His confidence quickly grew, and a prominent Regina property management company took notice of him. He soon successfully landed a full-time position.
“Having the support of Neil Squire Society and its Working Together Program is two-fold. It will empower our staff as we plan to build their self-sufficiency. The wage subsidy also enables small businesses of the same nature to plan strategically, knowing they have total support of an organization with the same mission.”
